This site was started in July of 1999 as a place to post and share our information with the world. That website was very basic and used .txt files as the main format. Today we try to incorporate useful features like linked documents and the search box to bring you the most user friendly site possible. Here is a little information about the people behind the scenes that make The Malone Family Directory what is is.

Fran Malone

Genealogy information, Research, & Message Board Administrator

Fran began researching his family history in the early 1980's from his home in Massachusetts. At that time he was making trips to local libraries and writing letters on his typwriter. A lot of records were hand written and stored in a collection of three ring binders. Today, while the search goes on, Fran is using the web and software to make his reasearch more streamlined.

When you contact the Malone Family Directory for help with your research you'll be sure to hear back from Fran. He has always enjoyed helping others colect their information.

Joe started this site for Fran as a 50th birthday gift. Little did he know this would be the gift that keeps on giving. Joe is responsible for updating the website as well as it's design. Again, the use of software has played a key role. When the site began it was very basic, with limited graphics, and had about 20 pages in total. Today we have nearly 300 pages and a backlog of at least that many waiting in the wings.
