Welcome to The Malone Family Directory

Fidelis ad Urnam - Faithful to the Tomb

The Irish Malone Family is an ancient sept, known in Gaelic as O Maoil Eoin, meaning descendant of a servant or devotee of Saint John, maol being Irish for bald and referring to the distinctive hairstyle sported by the Irish monks. The sept has certainly lived up to its name, in maintaining close associations with the ecclesiastical orders, producing many Bishops and Abbots, in particular, its connection with the Abbey of Clonmacnois. The surname is rarely seen today with its prefix O'.

Drury Malone and Ann Campbell (3/4 Cherokee) married in Alabama in 1822. I am wanting information about Ann Campbell and her parents. We believe that her father was Silas Campbell and that his father was Alexander Campbell, a trader and soldier in the 1760's. We know that Ann and Drury had 12 children. One of their sons was my grandmother Malone's father. Any information that you can give about Ann's family will be appreciated. Hi Ed, Hopefully you make a return to our site and the guestbook. I Have tracked a James Malone in Omaha that was born 1879 in New York. This James was the son of David who was also born in New York in 1854. It was David's father whose name was James that came to New York from Ireland. Does this sound like it's your family? Please email me "directly". My email is on the contact page above the "guestbook Link".

Hi Vincent, Hopefully you make a return visit to our site and the guestbook. Please email me directly and I can try to follow up on your Peter. I did find a Peter Malone in Bolton, Lancashire, England that was born about 1795 in Ireland. He was in the 1841 and 1851 England Census. His wife was going by the name of Ann. There was also a Peter Malone that died in Bolton between April and June of 1857 but no age listed. These are probably your ancestors. Fran

Hi I have searched my ancestor back to Ireland in Tyrone. His name is Peter Malone and his wife is Sophia (Ann). I was told that they died in Manchester Lancashire, England. I can not find anything on them specifically, but I did find a couple of people that could be him and his wife. I have exhasted my attempt to find any more info. Do you have anything on him by chance? He was born in 1795 in Tyrone, Ireland his wife was born in 1815 in Tyrone also. They had 7 children who were born in Tyrone and Manchester. My ancestors son and some brothers and sisters moved to Fall River, MA.. If you have any info it would be greatly appreciated if I could have some. Thank you, Vincent Ewers

Ed Malone here from Omaha, NE, USA. I have not found any family members outside of my immediate family. I do knwo that my great grandfather David Malone arrived in the USA via Ellis Island circa 1879 and settled for awhile in New York. His son, James, my grandfather, married Elsie Fox and settled here in Nebraska. Thanks Fran for setting up the website. I am looking forward to making great contact with my fellow Malone clansmen.
